AdroitPad 2.0.1
A small update to 2.0 — easier setup for Claude Desktop, and more for coding agents.
- Add to Claude Desktop: when you create a Claude Desktop connection in Settings ▸ External agents, AdroitPad can add itself to Claude Desktop's config for you. Only its own entry changes, your other servers are kept, and a copy of the old file is saved first. macOS only.
- Coding agents can now put an issue in an epic when they create or update it, by the epic's key. It still waits for your approval in Agent changes.
- Your data files are now private to your user account on macOS and Linux, file by file.
- "What changed since you last asked" now shows the time in your own time zone.
Already installed? AdroitPad updates itself automatically.

AdroitPad 2.0 — beta
Three new features, included in your existing licence at no extra cost.
- Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code (Copilot) and Zed can connect to AdroitPad over MCP and ask what the project knows, with cited answers.
- Agents can propose plans from signed design docs, re-plans when the design changes, change requests, progress reports with evidence (commit, PR, tests) and release notes.
- Every change waits in Agent changes until you approve it. Every call is logged in Activity.
- macOS and Linux. Not on Windows yet.
- Decisions, conventions, gotchas and findings, each with its "why".
- Trust you control: anything an agent or the assistant writes starts as a Hypothesis; only you make it trusted.
- Memories can watch files and ask "still true?" when they change. Supersede keeps history.
- Ask the project, Project state, "Why?" on records, and decisions exported as ADRs.
- The folder linked to your project as a simple file tree, a plain editor with tabs, and your real terminal.
- "Why?" on a file shows the memories that watch it. "Open in…" hands off to VS Code, Cursor, IntelliJ, Sublime Text or Zed.
v1.0.1 — September 27, 2026
Project Explorer, embedded terminal & signed Windows installer
Work on your code without leaving AdroitPad — link a folder to any Project to browse, edit and run it from one place — and Windows installs are now digitally signed.
- Project Explorer — link a folder to a Project and browse it in a file tree that respects your .gitignore (including nested ones), with a filter box to find files fast
- Live file tree — the tree and open editors refresh when files change on disk, with a notice if a file you're editing changed underneath you
- Tabbed editor with syntax coloring (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, JSON, YAML, HTML, CSS, Markdown) and a Markdown preview
- Locate the current file in the tree with one click
- Embedded terminal — your own shell (zsh/bash on macOS & Linux, PowerShell on Windows), multiple tabs, and optional restricted mode that keeps terminal writes inside the project folder
- Open in… your installed IDE (VS Code, IntelliJ, Sublime and more)
- Open tabs, unsaved edits and terminals survive a restart and switching Projects
- Deleted files go to a recoverable trash, never straight off disk
- Signed Windows installer — the installer and app are digitally signed by AdroitForge Inc, and automatic updates only install builds signed by AdroitForge
- Fixes: cleaner terminal output after switching Projects, clearer messages when a file can't be opened, and general stability improvements
